Who is Mercek?
Writer, investor, internet person. Made a life out of magic internet money and still not sure how.
I somehow turned being too curious about the internet into a career.
It started in 2019 with a testnet guide I translated for fun. No grand plan, no idea where any of it would lead. I just kept reading, trying things, losing money on some of them, making money on others, and spending an unreasonable amount of time figuring out how this strange corner of the internet worked.
A few years later, crypto became my full-time life.
I write about the things I'm genuinely interested in: markets, onchain activity, new protocols, investor behavior, and occasionally whatever weird thing the internet has decided to care about that week.
Most of what I write starts with me trying to answer a question for myself. Publishing it just happens to be the last step.
I also invest, work with teams I find interesting, and build small tools around problems I run into myself.
There isn't much of a master plan behind WorldOfMercek. It's simply where I put the things I'm thinking about, researching, building, or probably spending too much time on.
So far, that has worked out pretty well.
