What we built together
Overview
OKX has been around since 2017 and runs one of the biggest crypto exchanges in the world, with a reputation for derivatives depth and a fast moving product team. What makes it different is how seriously it takes the onchain side: the same app gives you a centralized exchange account and one of the most widely used self custody wallets in the industry.
What stands out
- Exchange and wallet in one. Switch between exchange trading and your own keys without changing apps.
- OKX Wallet. A multichain self custody wallet that covers a long list of networks, tokens and dApps.
- OKX DEX. An aggregator that routes swaps across decentralized exchanges and chains for better execution.
- X Layer. OKX's own layer 2 network, with OKB as its gas token, built to bring exchange users onchain.
Why it is on this list
The line between centralized and onchain crypto is getting thinner every year, and OKX is one of the clearest examples of that. It is a useful lens on where exchange users go once they start holding their own keys.
